From Concept to 300,000 Units: Delivering Lidl’s High-Standard Meat Grinder in Record Time
At the 2024 Autumn Canton Fair, we were visited by the Hong Kong sourcing team of Lidl, a leading German retail giant. Recognizing our factory's strong reputation and extensive expertise in the meat grinder industry, they came specifically to explore collaboration. Following initial discussions, a pivotal meeting was held at our factory in November 2024, where Lidl presented their vision for developing a new, high-performance meat grinder.
Addressing this significant strategic project, we promptly assembled a dedicated team to respond efficiently. From conceptual design and technical development to securing stringent German product certifications, we successfully transformed the client's concept into a market-ready product—the new MGZ meat grinder—in just four months.
During the development phase, we encountered several technical challenges to meet the highest German market standards. Based on certification test feedback, our excellent R&D team focused on solving core issues, including motor power output stability, operational temperature control, and noise reduction. Each round of testing, meeting, and design iteration reflected our unwavering commitment to quality.
For mass production, we quickly formed a production optimization team. Leveraging our advanced MES (Manufacturing Execution System) for end-to-end digital management and quality monitoring, we efficiently completed the first large-scale production run within two months through scientific task allocation and process optimization. The products successfully passed Lidl's rigorous on-site inspection and were delivered on schedule.
This collaboration resulted in the delivery of 300,000 MGZ meat grinder units, with a total project value of approximately 30 million RMB. More than just fulfilling a major order, it demonstrated our capability for in-depth collaboration with an international retail giant on high-end product development and rapid mass production, laying a solid foundation for a long-term partnership.
